Once in the holiday region of Plan de Corones around the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, you’re only a short distance from numerous biking and hiking trails. It’s worth the hiking excursion to see the nearby Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park, with its imposing summits, glaciers, waterfalls, and unique fauna that includes eagles, marmots, and chamois. Here, hikers can explore the south side of the Dolomites or ascend the north side, up to the Val Pusteria Valley mountain pastures.
For elderly or novice hikers, the hiking area around Valdaora and Fanes-Sennes-Braies also provides easy and rewarding walks on flat terrain with stunning panoramic views of the Dolomites.

This tour takes hikers to Fonda Savio hut, at almost 2400 metres a.s.l. in the Ampezzo Dolomites, extending on the south side of the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. The Fonda Savio tour offers a unique view of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo.

The continues for about four hours up to the 2,507 metre-high Piz da Peres in the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park. The spectacular views of the Dolomites around Valdaora include a panoramic vantage of the opposite mountain range, Plan de Corones, which in winter becomes one of the most popular ski areas in South Tyrol.

The Terner-Jöchl ridge, also called "Am Joch", is a popular hiking destination and part of the main Alpine ridge. The route traverses Plan de Corones to the Fundres mountain range. Along the way, hikers will be treated to magnificent views. During this excursion, hikers will find mountain huts offering refreshments, such as the Pertinger Alm Alpine pasture with its famous view of the Dolomites. The tour can be carried out as a round trip. In winter, a popular ski route leads to the Terner Jöchl.
